This is what it's all about
You're in the final stretch of your studies. What's next? Starting a career can be challenging for students. In today's ever-changing job market, it's important to build your network and strengthen your resources. KIT alumnae and alumni can help in many ways and continue their education at the same time. The "Alumni4Students" project innovatively brings together KIT students and alumni in various formats. During a weekend seminar, both groups learn personality-strengthening coaching approaches from positive psychology. They discover how to grow personally and develop according to their own values and goals, even in uncertain times. Students benefit greatly from this approach, finding the exchange with alumni on an equal footing very rewarding.
The project is already underway. Initial evaluations and feedback indicate above-average success. This success can be further increased if the training program is held at a conference venue outside the usual setting.
What we want to achieve
We want to hold a seminar for a mixed target group called "Unlocking Potential: Successfully Mastering Your Job Entry with Positive Psychology" for students and alumni outside the campus. A shared daily routine and the opportunity to spend evenings together are intended to intensify the exchange between all participants and pave the way for low-threshold mentoring. This creates an opportunity not only to learn cognitively, but also to connect with each other on a deeper level and be inspired by new experiences.

"The combination of theoretical input and practical exercises based on positive psychology helped me identify my strengths and apply them to my professional life. In particular, the interactive exchange with alumni provided me with a realistic understanding of professional activities and career opportunities, which was helpful in making my career choice.“
