FUTURO - Protection and future of the marine ecosystem off West Africa
Off the coast of West Africa lies one of the most valuable marine areas on earth: the tropical upwelling region in the Atlantic. The large-scale international research initiative FUTURO aims to lay the foundations for protecting and sustainably managing this vital marine area.
Clean drinking water through membrane processes
The "Clean Water for All" initiative develops sustainable and adapted technologies that can treat water with dissolved impurities to produce clean drinking water. The systems are autonomous and designed for operation in developing countries and other remote locations.
Climate protection: municipal measures (KommMa)
The funding of the "KommMa" municipal climate protection project is intended to provide an opportunity to achieve climate protection goals efficiently and effectively. This is to be made possible through targeted advertising and acquisition of municipal institutions or funding of a dedicated position (30-50%).
Grasping the pictures of eco futures
The project "Eco futures and how we grasp their images" combines art science and science communication to promote discourse on the Anthropocene, with a focus on the visual cultures of ecological management. It included lecture series, workshops and a planned book publication to make sustainable contributions within and beyond professional circles.
