On May 22, 2026, the KIT Center for Energy welcomed 13 research students from Queensland University of Technology (Australia), the University of North Carolina at Charlotte (USA) and the University of Waterloo (Canada). The students from the partner universities spend a four-month research stay at KIT. The IMPULSE programme is organized by the International Students Office (IStO) and funded by the Schroff Foundations, the Reinhard Frank Foundation, the Gips-Schüle Foundation and the KIT Foundation.

The Science Camps 2026 got off to a successful start on May 24 with the Science Camp AI Lab. There, young people learned how to work with artificial intelligence in a practical way. Thanks to funding from the Karl Schlecht Foundation, the Schroff Foundations and the KIT Foundation, six science camps can be offered this year. The camps were initiated by TRIANGEL and the Center for Technology-Enhanced Learning. They are aimed at young people between the ages of 13 and 18. The target is to arouse interest in mathematics, informatics, natural sciences, and engineering, and to strengthen technical skills.

Biomedical scientist Ron Kikinis was honored with the "International Excellence Award of KIT" and the "Fellowship of SCHROFF Foundation" for his outstanding contributions to medical imaging and global health innovation.

Ten years ago, the KIT Foundation launched a chair sponsorship campaign for the new Nusselt Lecture Hall at KIT's Mechatronics Learning and Application Center (LAZ). Around 130 donors financed the seating. The LAZ is expected to open this year. The plaques with the names of the chair sponsors were installed in January.

On February 25, 2026, the Executive Board of KIT invited the sponsors, donors and members of the anniversary advisory board to a thank-you reception in the Executive Board building to express their gratitude for their great commitment and support in the anniversary year.
