The event began with a visit by the KIT Foundation’s board members to the Institute of Sports and Sports Science (IfSS), where they learned about current research projects and their funding needs. Engaging presentations brought the projects to life and demonstrated what future support could make possible.

The training camp to prepare for the International Earth Science Olympiad (IESO) took place at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT) from June 28 to July 2, 2026. The top ten participants from the German Geosciences Olympiad deepened their knowledge through lectures, lab and fieldwork, and excursions. Four of them will represent Germany in Turin at the end of August. The camp was made possible thanks to the support of the Dr. Hartwig Blume Foundation.
