Deutschlandstipendium

Equal terms support program
Ongoing project - open for funding

The project is open for funding. Join this initiative today and help shape the future of the next generation. Use the donation form below to donate directly to the Deutschlandstipendium at KIT.

This is what it's all about

The Deutschlandstipendium provides financial support to highly talented and dedicated students at KIT. The scholarship opens new avenues and opportunities in students' everyday lives, enabling them to reach their full potential. The scholarship offers more than just financial support; students also benefit from the knowledge and advice of their sponsors, as well as networking opportunities.

What we achieve

Your donation can significantly impact the academic progress and professional development of our students. Your support can open doors to promising futures and enable students to be selective about their education. By becoming a sponsor, you will support individual career paths and contribute to strengthening KIT as a university and the German educational landscape as a whole.

Further Information

What makes the Deutschlandstipendium special
  1. Public and private funding: The Deutschlandstipendium is financed by public funds and private sponsors. The federal government provides part of the funding and doubles every donation, whether from private individuals, foundations, or companies. The amount donated is not important.
  2. Extended eligibility criteria: Unlike many other scholarship programs, the Deutschlandstipendium is not awarded solely on the basis of academic performance. Social engagement, personal experiences, and the students' social situation are also taken into account. At Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT), a jury decides who receives a scholarship based on these criteria and academic performance.
  3. Financial Support: The Deutschlandstipendium provides students with 300 euros per month. Funding is usually provided for at least one year, and students can reapply for additional funding. This funding enables students to focus on their studies and pursue their academic goals.
  4. Networking Opportunities: Scholarship recipients can network with their sponsors, which may open up career prospects and contacts.
How do sponsors benefit from the Deutschlandstipendium program?
As a sponsor, you have the opportunity to meet the scholarship recipients who benefit from your support.
If you donate the full amount of €1,800, you will receive a personal invitation to the annual award ceremony at KIT. In any case, you can claim your donation for tax purposes. For donations up to €300, your deposit slip is valid as proof of donation for the tax office. For donations over €300, the KIT Foundation will automatically send you a donation receipt.
As a private sponsor, you can establish a personal connection with your scholarship recipient and provide them with knowledge and advice. For instance, you can help them overcome the challenges of daily life at a university. You can also actively support them in starting their careers by leveraging your network and life experience.
If you represent a company, you can connect with future top talent and benefit from KIT's unique selection process. Students indicate their desired cooperation when they apply. This means you can be sure that your scholarship recipient is interested in your company as well. You can also support your scholarship recipient by helping with their thesis or introducing them to your network. This allows you to present your company as a committed partner in promoting education.
How do students benefit from the Deutschlandstipendium?
Students receive €300 per month for one year. They can reapply for further funding. The scholarship is awarded regardless of income or parental support, and it does not count toward BAföG. Additionally, the scholarship provides an opportunity for students to establish direct contact with sponsors, which can be beneficial when writing a thesis or starting a career.

"The Alexander Tutsek Foundation awards 55 Deutschlandstipendium Scholarships to talented and committed students at five colleges and universities, regardless of their social background. In addition to academic excellence, personal and social commitment are also selection criteria. This encourages students to become socially involved early on, while pursuing their own careers. Ultimately, this strengthens Germany's position as a center of science and business in the long term and supports young people in their studies. “
